I am Lori Smith and I have been a Lamesa ISD teacher for 23 years. I taught fourth grade for 17 years and am now a fifth grade teacher. I have taught all subjects throughout the years. My passion is for Language Arts. I currently teach Reading, Writing, and Social Studies.
I have two children. Erika is 28 years old and taught Science three years here in Lamesa. She is now a 5th grade Science teacher in Muleshoe. She is married to Vince Griffith. They have a son named Lincoln Ray, which will be year old July 14, 2016. Lincoln is my first grandchild and is such a joy! Jake is 22 years old (WOW! I am old!! ha!). He lives and works in Lubbock and has a sweet girlfriend, Jessie Kirk. Erika, Jake, and I are all Lamesa High School graduates. Erika, and I are Texas Tech graduates. We are all Red Raider Fans!
We love all our pets. I have three dogs that were rescued. Dawn is a Pit Bull mix, L.T. is a Chihuahua, and Girly is a Border Collie. Jake has a German Shepherd mix named Girl that lives with us now that he graduated and lives in Lubbock. Wow! That's a lot of dogs, but we love them all! 3 dogs that weigh nearly 80 pounds each and a little one that controls the whole pack. ha! Gotta love chihuahuas!!!!
My hobbies include golf, scrapbooking, gardening, and watching sports and movies.
I look forward to new experiences and another year of teaching! Children never cease to amaze me! That is what I do because that is what I want to do.
